This hotel is touted in Lonely Planet and it is definitely a nice haven in Mindo. The owner Susan and her husband Luis both speak English (Susan is American) and are very friendly. The rooms are nice, but a bit dark and damp (we were here at the end of the rainy season though). She gives you fresh towels when you arrive (big, fluffy ones!) and a little one time use shampoo/conditioner packet which was really nice. They also run a restaurant of the same name at the front of the hotel and it has great food. The nice thing for us was that she kept a running tab for us so we never had to pay separately for our meals or coffee (they have a great espresso maker). They also run a water program for guests where you pay $1.50 and can get all the filtered you want and can refill your container anytime. A great deal if you’re there for more than a night and it is their small way of helping to cut down on the amount of plastic bottle waste. Since we were both American, we were able to pay through paypal with no additional fees which was really nice.

If you take the bus in, you don’t need to get a taxi to the bus. Just turn around (away from the park) and take your first right. It’s up that first street on your right.
