Quito ~ Hostal Nassau

Location: Mariscal area of Quito, Ecuador
Date of stay: March 2012 (1 night)
Cost: $25 with private bath and double bed

After El Cafecito-Quito did not have a room, we went to this one and weren’t disappointed. The location is great, just a block from Plaza Foch in Mariscal. The street block doesn’t have much on it but we only had to walk a few houses to get to the plaza with many restaurants, so felt safe. It’s a little run down but we were happy with it for the cost/location. Hot water was plentiful and wi-fi worked in the room (had to be close to the door for faster connection). Bed and pillows were some of the best we’ve had. There is a laundromat across the street (.45 per pound-was ready the next morning). We saw no other people staying there so it was rather quiet but for what we were looking for, it was a great spot!
